About

Hi! I’m Sam, short for Samantha. I’m a registered yoga instructor teaching all over Northeast Ohio.

I make my home with my family: my husband, Nick, my children, Amelia, Finn, and Max, and our two cats, Juner and Gus. We enjoy doing so many things together – among them, snuggling, watching movies, traveling – but our most favorite is probably sharing in delicious food!

Outside of yoga, I also am an avid reader, writer, and creator. I love to draw and paint and craft, and have practiced photography for a number of years. I like the outdoors, autumn, comfortable clothing a size or two too big, and so much coffee. I also subscribe to an inordinate amount of podcasts, mostly in the Christian or True Crime genres.

“…They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” (Isaiah 61:3 NIV)

In 2011, I decided to pursue a Christian lifestyle. During my yoga teacher training program, Holy Yoga, I was continually drawn to revisit this scripture. It’s my belief that this is the purpose and mission of both my personal and my shared yoga practice. Through the practice of yoga as worship, we can root down in the gospel, be transformed to be holy and righteous, and to be recognized by God’s glory in us – to be oaks of righteousness reveling His splendor and glory. I believe that is God’s intention and hope for us, and that is my intention and hope here as well.

Because I have made the personal choice to live a Christ-centered life, my faith and spirituality find their way into every facet of my life. However, this does not mean that all of the yoga classes I teach are, themselves, Christ-centered. Secular classes, or classes without a religious intention, are also offered.

Regardless of which class you choose to attend, be assured that all beliefs, denominations, races, ethnicities, levels of physical ability, sexual orientations, ages, and political affiliations will be treated with respect, love, and care. There is room at the table, and if you find your way to my class, a chair will be pulled out for you.
