Be Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Re-read that, but insert “I” or your own name where it says ‘love.”

“I am patient. I am kind. I do not envy, I do not boast, and I am not easily proud. I do not dishonor others, am not self-seeking, am not easily angered, and I keep no record of wrongs. I do not delight in evil, but rejoice with truth. I always protect, always trust, always hope, and always persevere.”

Can you believe that?

Can you search your heart to see how you can carry and be more love in a world that so desperately needs it?

Can you see where maybe you could be more loving, by this definition, to someone else or even to yourself, and choose today to be open to refinement and growth to become Love more wholly?
